‘Three sisters and a mister’ of Haim preview new music and announce tour dates
It’s been 2 1/2 years since the “three sisters and a mister” of Haim released “Days Are Gone,” their widely beloved debut combining L.A.’s soft rock vibes with ‘90s R&B twists.
But now the Grammy-nominated group has announced another run of shows — one stopping in the L.A. area — and a video with scenes of them in the studio playing new material.
The group will kick off this run on May 17 at the Observatory in Santa Ana, followed by festival dates and headline sets. No Coachella this year, alas. Though it’s fair to imagine they’ll be back soon.
The video doesn’t include much by way of new material — just 15 seconds of the Haim sisters at work, recording to analog tape and playing a variety of instruments.
But it’s clear that a follow-up to “Days Are Gone” is coming soon, and the video promises that they have “been in the studio for so long — like, perfecting and trying to get it right. At this point, we just want to go out there and play the songs live.” So expect to hear it first in Santa Ana.
