Twitter responds to Kanye West’s strict performance rules and that Taylor Swift reference

Kanye West dominated the twittersphere today with the livestream of his Madison Square Garden event, which doubled as a release party for his long-awaited new album, “The Life of Pablo,” and the launch of the latest iteration of his fashion line, Yeezy Season 3.

The ticketed event was streamed live on TIDAL and quickly spawned the trending hashtag #YeezySeason3 and countless reactions, jokes and praises.

The fashion models at the Adidas-sponsored event -- and the strict guidelines the were reportedly given -- sparked endless commentary.

Naturally, the event drew scores of celebrities, notably the Kardashian clan, big names from the world of fashion, and fellow musicians and contributors such as Jay Z, Frank Ocean, Pusha T, Vic Mensa and others.

However, Twitter was also buzzing about a celebrity who wasn’t there -- Taylor Swift. One of the most talked-about lyrics on “Pablo” features a not-safe-for-print reference to the pop star, who was the target of an infamous West outburst at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

Details about when Kanye’s new album will be available for purchase have yet to be revealed. However, given his track record up to this point, we can be sure he’ll let us know.
