Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs says what he really wants to do is act (so adios, music, again)

Sean Combs wants to be an actor when he grows up -- so much so that he says he's leaving music behind after the promised release of "No Way Out 2" and its attendant world tour, the dates of which have yet to be announced.

“I’m going to put out my last album and devote 100 percent of my time to doing films..." he tells Cigar Aficionado in its June issue. "I want to stop at a great place. And a final album is a great place to stop. I want to take a victory lap, to do a world tour and really enjoy it one last time.”

It's not as if he's been knocking out the tunes on a regular basis in recent years: The performer also known as Diddy, P. Diddy and Puff Daddy released "Last Train to Paris" in 2010 and "MMM (Money Making Mitch") in late 2015 first as a free download and then as a retail album.

As an actor, he's been seen on TV (think "Entourage," "CSI Miami," "Hawaii Five-O" and "black-ish") and on the big screen, with roles in movies including "Draft Day," "Monster's Ball," "Muppets Most Wanted" and "Get Him to the Greek."

And then there was Broadway, where he did "A Raisin in the Sun" in 2004. (Reviews were mixed.)

"I've jumped out of an airplane and this was way scarier," the hip-hop mogul tells the magazine. "It was standing-room only. And there's nothing harder than live theater … It was one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve ever had. I feel honored even saying that I stood on a Broadway stage in this play by Lorraine Hansberry. That's crazy."

Combs' "Bad Boy Family Reunion" tour is set to play Brooklyn's Barclays Center on May 20 and 21, and then he's playing the Essence Festival in New Orleans on July 3. But that doesn't qualify as a Puff Daddy world tour.

Of course, he announced the whole final-world-tour thing in April 2015 too.

"I'm going to go and do a world tour and I'm not going to hit a lot of places but the places that I am going to hit, it's important for me, because this is probably, like, my last time touring," he said a year ago on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," where he was happy to slam shots of his Ciroc vodka along the way.

"I'm going to go and get to see the world and know it's my last time touring. I want to be here to raise my girls, and so that's a decision I made."

A decision he made more than once, perhaps.
