Sony teases its ‘Jump Street’ and ‘Men in Black’ crossover movie -- ‘MIB23’
Does anybody really want another “Men in Black” or “Jump Street”? Sony is hoping audiences might want the two together.
The studio teased the picture during its CinemaCon presentation Tuesday and revealed its title: “MIB 23.”
The stars of “Jump Street,” Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill, will star in the mash-up. The legendary MIB pair of Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, however, won’t, as Variety reported last month. The studio is apparently hoping such a move will relaunch the “Men in Black” franchise to a new, younger audience.
The picture will be directed by James Bobin (“The Muppets,” “Alice Through the Looking Glass”).
No release date has been given, but filming is rumored to begin as early as June.
