And awards season has officially begun. Friday night, the Hollywood Film Awards dutifully drew a star-studded throng to its red carpet at the Hollywood Palladium. The campaign trail hikers embarked on their quest for trophies and the celebrity selfies ensued.

Queen Latifah hosted the ceremony, which featured appearances by Robert Downey Jr., Benedict Cumberbatch, Amy Adams, Julianne Moore and many others. The Hollywood Film Awards also made its television debut: It was broadcasted live by CBS for the first time in its 17-year history.
