Watch the new trailer for ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’
After debuting on Sunday night’s MTV Movie Awards, the latest trailer for the upcoming “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” has arrived. Finally, audiences have a greater sense of the American Wizarding World, circa mid 1920s.
In the clip, Newt Scamander, played by Oscar-winner Eddie Redmayne, has just arrived in New York. Tucked away, obviously illegally, in his luggage are magical creatures. But when one of the creatures escapes, the hunt is on to find it and is led by American Auror Percival Graves, played by Colin Farrell.
“Fantastic Beasts” is based on J.K. Rowling’s 2001 book of the same name and a prequel to the “Harry Potter” franchise. The trailer makes it seem as if the two worlds will overlap by mentioning that Scamander has attracted the interest of Albus Dumbledore.
Three films are slated for the “Fantastic Beasts” series, with the first opening Nov. 18 followed by premieres in 2018 and 2020.
