Hollywood reacts to death of ‘Star Trek’ star Anton Yelchin

“Star Trek” actor Anton Yelchin died Sunday in an apparent freak car accident, according to police and his publicist Jennifer Allen. As the news spread, fellow Hollywood stars began sharing their condolences via social media.

Yelchin started small with roles in indie films and various television shows before breaking out in pictures such as the crime thriller "Alpha Dog" and the teen comedy "Charlie Bartlett." His biggest role to date was in the rebooted "Star Trek" films — the third of which, "Star Trek Beyond," comes out in July.

Actors including Anna Kendrick (“Pitch Perfect” franchise), Gabourey Sidibe (“Precious,” “Empire”) and Kat Dennings (“2 Broke Girls”) tweeted their reactions to the news. A few of them are below:
