Blake Shelton, Nick Offerman, Jimmy Fallon are ‘The Chickeneers’
Blake Shelton, Nick Offerman, Jimmy Fallon and writer Chris Tartaro are ... “The Chickeneers.”
Things got a little egg-centric on the “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” set Thursday when “The Voice” judge, “Parks & Rec” star, late-night host and TV writer performed their rendition of “Ho Hey!” by Grammy-nominated band the Lumineers. Dressed as chickens. Clucking their way through the whole song.
No words, just clucks. Bock, bock and everything.
The quartet was costumed as bright yellow fowl, a la Big Bird, and delivered a nearly straight-faced performance of the hit song in celebration of Easter this Sunday. The “all-clucking version” included them playing various guitars and a banjo, too.
The music-minded Fallon is known to participate with his musical guests (See: Justin Timberlake’s “Timberweek”). Offerman served as one of Fallon’s guest interviews Thursday night while country singer Shelton was the musical guest, but their group performance stole the show. Our favorite part is Shelton chiming in with his deep raspy “bocks.” Hilarious.
