Angelina Jolie quashes secret-wedding rumors
Stand down, secret-wedding watchers: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are still only engaged, not married.
A jewelry swap by Jolie for the purposes of a U.N. humanitarian trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo on Monday had some imaginations churning.
Us Weekly, which has apparently been watching Jolie’s left hand very carefully, first called attention to a gold band that replaced Angie’s massive sparkler during the trip to meet with survivors of sexual violence. Jolie had first touched down in Rwanda on Sunday.

“Did Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie manage to pull off the impossible — a secret wedding in Hollywood?,” the mag wondered. The couple, who’d been putting off marriage until same-sex marriage was legal in the U.S., changed their minds because of their kids and got engaged last April. (It’s OK, GLAAD was cool with that.) They also got secretly married (not) around Christmas time.
Jolie put a quick end to the current speculation Wednesday at LAX. When asked by TMZ if the ring was a wedding band, she answered quite simply, “No, it’s not.”
So, there you have it, secret-wedding watchers. We’re sure your invitation will be in the mail.
