Justin Bieber saying ‘Auf wiedersehen’ to confiscated monkey?

Justin Bieber just can’t seem to hold on to his pets. There was the snake, and the hamster, and now there’s Mally, his confiscated capuchin monkey, which he may be abandoning in Germany in hopes that the critter will find an appropriate, loving home — like a zoo or a rescue center for primates.

The shelter that’s been taking care of Mally said Tuesday that it had received emails, supposedly from Camp Bieber, suggesting that the monkey might be better off if he were taken in by a facility in his current homeland.

“Our team is looking into the idea of placing Mally at a zoo in Germany. Would you happen to have any recommendations for places that Mally would be safe and thrive?” said one email, according the AP (via Vanity Fair).

Suggestions would be swell, apparently — the shelter would vote against a zoo and for a rescue facility, E! Online reported — but a customs spokesman said Mally will stay in the shelter until Bieber himself, or someone with his power of attorney, gets in touch with them directly.

Mally was confiscated by German authorities in late March after Bieber, who arrived on a private plane, could not produce the proper paperwork to bring the animal into the country, E! said.

The animal was reportedly a 19th-birthday gift to the Biebs from music producer Jamal “Mally Mall” Rashid, who has his own capuchin, named Bubbz. Bieber turned 19 while his tour was in London, though he picked up the monkey during a brief visit home to L.A. according to Buzzfeed.

Bieber gave away his hamster Pac to a fan at an Atlanta concert in December. Pac, sadly, passed away last month.

Johnson, the snake, is doing better, however. Shown off at the 2011 MTV Music Video Awards and later auctioned off for charity, the boa constrictor now has a home at the Reptile and Amphibian Discovery Zoo in Owatonna, Minn. According to the guy who runs the place, Johnson is not a diva.

Back to Mally, though. If Bieber does nothing and goes past the May 17 deadline without producing appropriate paperwork, the monkey becomes the property of Germany, Vanity Fair reports. But don’t worry — they don’t euthanize animals in German shelters, Camp Bieber was told.

The Ministry will be happy as long as the Biebs doesn’t loan out the monkey to buddy Lil Twist. ‘Cause we remember what Twist did when he was loaned that that nice Fisker car, which was also a birthday present.
