Matt Damon and wife renew their vows; Jimmy Kimmel officiates
Remember that “save the date” rumor about Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana Barroso, back in February?
It turns out the date to save was Saturday, when the two renewed their vows at sunset on St. Lucia island in the Caribbean.
Officiating was Damon’s late-night frenemy, Jimmy Kimmel, according to People. Overall, it was quite the contrast to their low-key city hall ceremony in late 2005.
The Damons, who met 10 years ago, spent $1 million to rent out the entire Sugar Beach resort for the pleasure of their approximately 50 guests, People reported (though other sources put the bill at a more modest $600,000). And pleasure they did have, enjoying the 85-degree weather and all the water amenities of the resort after being flown in via private jets.
A VIDEO HISTORY: Matt Damon vs. Jimmy Kimmel
“It was a very family-oriented and happy celebration,” a source told the mag, which cited local sources in quoting the price tag for the event. “Many guests brought their children.” Those kids were later spotted running around and playing with white parasols as their parents tipped cocktails during a reception at the beach.
Reportedly among the guests: Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, Don Cheadle, Casey Affleck, Chelsea Clinton, Chris Hemsworth and Kimmel fiancee Molly McNearney. While Ben and Jen left their kids at home, the Damons made sure their four girls were on hand.
The newly remarried couple were spotting walking hand in hand on the beach Sunday.
