Anne Hathaway and Adam Schulman marry in Big Sur
Anne Hathaway got married this past weekend. The “Dark Knight Rises” actress tied the knot with Adam Schulman on Saturday in Big Sur with an understated, nature-inspired ceremony and reception.
Hathaway and actor Schulman, who dated for more than three years and got engaged in November, welcomed more than 150 friends and family members to the celebration, according to People magazine. Though the setting was rustic and simple, Hathaway’s dress was made by a high-fashion master.
Grainy photos revealed an elaborate creation by Valentino, with a long train and longer veil, complemented by what reports said was a vintage headpiece. The front of the gown showed an embroidered diamond pattern.
“No movie stars. There were only a few people in the business there, like her stunt double,” a source told the magazine.
Dinner was exclusively vegan, and entertainment was provided by Americano Social Club, a jazz group brought in from San Francisco.
Though Hathaway refused any jewelry -- her wedding ring the presumed exception -- she didn’t skimp on flowers. L.A.’s Velvet Garden reportedly provided flower arrangements at a price totaling over $100,000.
Hathaway will next be seen in Tom Hooper’s adaptation of “Les Miserables,” alongside Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Amanda Seyfried.
