‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ trailer unleashes a godly villain
The first trailer for “X-Men: Apocalypse” has been released, and if the title of the film weren’t enough of a hint, the first words spoken hopefully clear everything up.
“I saw the end of the world,” says Jean Gray (Sophie Turner). “I could feel all this death.”
It seems the psychic mutant has picked up the disturbance that is Apocalypse (the mutant, not the event).
The voice-over then shifts to Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) recounting the many godly names mortals have called him over the years.
Between flashes of destruction and mutants in action it is revealed that Apocalypse is the very first mutant, he’s a bad guy and he always travels with four henchmen whom he imbues with power.
This time around his four horsemen are Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Psylocke (Olivia Munn), Angel (Ben Hardy) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender).
The trailer ends with a glimpse of James McAvoy sporting the iconic bald look of Professor X.
“X-Men: Apocalypse,” directed by Bryan Singer, will hit theaters May 27, 2016.
