‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ sequel gets a surprisingly concise title
The "Guardians of the Galaxy" sequel has a title. And surprisingly, it isn't an oddly worded creation about dark worlds or winter soldiers. It's simple and straightforward. And also confirmed by the movie's director.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige let it slip to Collider that the new title for Chris Pratt's return to the stars would be titled "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" a simple yet elegant sequel to the first film.
Guardians director James Gunn confirmed the name and also revealed a bit of fantastic fan theorizing that happens on even the simplest of script page reveals. Behold the Internet sleuthing, in hopes of breaking down the secret name behind the title page, which Gunn joyfully shared on his Facebook page:
This all makes sense as "Vol 2" was the name of Peter Quill's (Pratt) mix tape that he was gifted from his mother. It's both sweet, and sad. Fingers crossed this volume will also be filled with excellent soundtrack songs from the past.
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will begin shooting sometime during February or March 2016. Here's hoping they piece together another fantastic mix tape.
