Newsflash: Victoria Beckham smiles!

Who cares, you may ask? Well, nobody really, except her husband and nearly 400,000 fans on Facebook. And all those people who thought even a smirk could only be a sign of the apocalypse.

David Beckham, the newly retired soccer star, took to Facebook on Sunday to share a really sweet photo of the typically expressionless fashionista, to whom he’s been married since July 1999.

And boy, does she look happy.

“See I told you she smiles,” he said, sharing the pic of his wife showing her pearly whites and almost winking.

We’re not saying Mona Lisa should take any pointers, but it’s pretty refreshing to see the former steely faced Spice Girl do away with her posh attitude and actually appear carefree and amused.

“I actually used to smile a lot in pictures,” the 39-year-old told Glamour in the September 2012 issue. “I think I only stopped smiling when I got into fashion.

“Fashion stole my smile! I’ve created this person. And I’m not saying that’s not me, but I wouldn’t say that’s the whole me. It’s an armor that goes up.”

But some fans are thrilled to see her inscrutable face actually appear, well, scrutable.
