Tom Cruise dating Laura Prepon? Here’s the rumor roundup

Despite reports to the contrary, reps for Tom Cruise and actress Laura Prepon have denied that their clients are dating.

Cruise’s rep shut down rumors by telling the Daily Mail that not only has Cruise, 51, not been dating the “Orange Is the New Black” actress, but the two have never even met.

And a rep for Prepon, 34, told Us Weekly on Thursday that reports linking the pair are “not true.”

Gossip Cop also gave the rumor a zero on its “Real or Rumor” scale, citing a source close to the “Mission Impossible” actor saying “they are not dating.”

However, reports insisting that the romance was still on have still been swirling online despite denials from both camps.

British mag Grazia first reported the alleged romance in the fall, indicating that the fellow Scientologists had been trying to keep it under wraps.

In November, the pair were reportedly spotted having dinner together at the Manor Hotel in Los Angeles and Cruise picked her up in a vintage car and had a bottle of 1979 Merlot waiting for her. (Wait, didn’t the rep just say they never even met?!)

Still, Page Six columnist Richard Johnson asserted Thursday that the actors were an item “but they are being extremely careful to keep it secret.”

“It’s the buzz on the set of her show,” an insider told the publication.

Prepon, of “That ‘70s Show” and “How I Met Your Mother,” plays a lesbian drug dealer on the Netflix series “Orange Is the New Black,” which returns June 6. So it’s not like the reports aren’t helping promote her upcoming project...

But last November, an insider also told Us Weekly that Cruise and Prepon “see each other at some functions, but they are not dating.”

Cruise’s last high-profile relationship, with “Dawson’s Creek” alum Katie Holmes, ended in summer 2012, when the pair announced their split after seven years of marriage. The pair also has a daughter named Suri, 7, together. Before that Cruise was married to Oscar-winner Nicole Kidman and Mimi Rogers.

Since Holmes, the “Jack Reacher” star has been romantically linked to New York restaurateur Cynthia Jorge. He’s also been seen sharing meals with “The Other Woman” star Cameron Diaz and his ex, Penelope Cruz, the Mail reported.

In 2007, Prepon split with longtime boyfriend Christopher Masterson, brother of her “That ‘70s Show” costar Danny Masterson, after seven years of dating. She reportedly dated “Greek” and “Californication” actor Scott Michael Foster after that, Us Weekly reported.
