Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy: Wedding crashers?

Quelle horreur, Kennedys -- did Taylor Swift and her boyfriend crash a family wedding?

So says one mother of the bride, who reportedly asked the superstar and beau Conor Kennedy to avoid a family wedding in Boston this weekend as not to detract from the bride. Naturally.

Victoria Gifford Kennedy, once married to Robert Kennedy’s son Michael, hosted the nuptials of her daughter Kyle to one Liam Kerr at a swanky Boston hotel Saturday, where she says Swift attended despite repeated requests to stay away.

“They texted me an hour before the wedding and asked if they could come,” Gifford Kennedy told the Boston Herald. “I responded with a very clear, ‘Please do not come.’ They came anyway.”

That’s a pretty fierce faux pas in the oft-rigid eastern upper crust, especially in a family circle like the Kennedys. Gifford Kennedy’s clutching of pearls allegedly continued when the young couple showed.

“I personally went up to Ms. Swift, whose entrance distracted the entire event, politely introduced myself to her, and asked her as nicely as I could to leave. It was like talking to a ghost. She seemed to look right past me,” she said.

The rub: Swift attendance was confirmed, but none of the tension.

“There is no truth to that. Taylor was invited to the wedding and the bride thanked her profusely for being there,” a rep for Swift told the paper.

Awkward. Invited or not, Swift and Conor reportedly came for a portion of dinner and returned for the reception, where they danced the night away.
