Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez reunite at Met Gala, post a dance video
BFFs again? Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez went into bestie mode at Monday’s Met Gala after-party, leading many to believe that the pair were no longer on the outs.
The country crooner and former Disney diva were thought to have had a falling out given Gomez’s latest spate of unusual behavior and reunion with her ex, Justin Bieber. Gomez unfollowed everyone on Instagram (but is now following two people), and Swift was seen gallivanting around with her other gal pals in recent weeks.
But all seemed well between the young stars Monday.
“Sometimes you wanna just be you with someone who knows all your secrets,” Gomez, 21, wrote in posting a cute video of the singers twirling and dancing in their gowns during the annual ball at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. No trouble on this side of paradise, we assume.
The short clip, set to Dean Martin’s version of “Volare,” was one of numerous posts from the two that evening.
It was the first Met Gala for Gomez, who wore a wine-hued dress by Diane von Furstenberg. The designer also dressed actresses Jessica Alba and Jessica Joffe. The event celebrated the Met’s latest Costume Institute exhibit, “Charles James: Beyond Fashion,” and its many guests were asked to attend in formal attire. (They did not disappoint.)
“My first MET Gala, *sigh* I felt like a princess who totally downed an entire pizza after. I’ll never forget last night,” Gomez wrote, sharing another snap of herself in her slim gown.
She also shared video of herself getting prepped for the fancy affair as well as a snapshot with singer John Legend and his wife, Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Chrissy Teigen.
“They found me to tell me y’all told them I was a fan!!” the “Spring Breakers” actress captioned a pic of herself sandwiched between the comely couple.
Swift, 24, posted an Instagram photo featuring Victoria’s Secret Angel Karlie Kloss and their pre-ball “glam party.”
“Hair/make up/Motown dance party @karliekloss,” Swift wrote.
The Grammy-winning songstress attended the affair, hosted by Vogue editor Anna Wintour, wearing a luxe Oscar de la Renta gown. Thing is, the frock almost didn’t make it down the red carpet.
“That moment when your cat casually walks up, then abruptly ATTACKS your custom satin Oscar de la Renta gown during your fitting for Met Ball,” Swift tweeted early Monday.
But all was well when she finally made it to the museum’s steps.
Kloss, the ball’s co-chair Sarah Jessica Parker, heiress Ivanka Trump and “Girls” star Allison Williams were just a few others wearing Oscar de la Renta confections for the formal event.
