Taylor Swift and the Kanye West-inspired jar of jam
Taylor Swift seems to think that the Kanye West “I’mma let you finish” routine has a time and place. And that time and place is here and now.
Still.
The “Red” singer, 23, is still making jokes about the rapper’s stunt that took place at MTV’s Video Music Awards in September 2009. You remember, West infamously grabbed the mike when Swift was about to get her award for female video and proclaimed that with “Single Ladies,” Beyonce had the best female video “of all time.”
Anyway, Swift is obviously able to laugh about the whole thing now. It took only, what, four years? Witness a recent gift she gave her tourmate and friend Ed Sheeran: a jar of jam.

“Taylor made me some jam. Amazing,” Sheeran captioned a picture of the homemade preserves on Instagram. But it was the gibe on the homemade label that showed how Swift really felt.
“Yo Ed — I’m really happy 4 you and I’m gonna let u finish but this is the best JAM OF ALL TIME. —T”
Get it? Jam, instead of video? Get it?
Sheeran, who will be a mentor on the upcoming season of “The Voice,” recently told E! that Swift has “the most English sense of humor” of any American he’s met, and that he appreciates her “dry” wit, which actually looks a bit sticky to us.
The pair will be headed to the MTV VMAs on Aug. 25. Swift is nominated for two awards — video of the year and female video (again) — and Sheeran is nominated for male video.
“Two VMA nominations!!” Swift tweeted after this year’s nominees were announced on July 17. “If you vote and get us one, I promise to keep a firmer grip on the mic this time ;)”
Although it’s unlikely that busy rapper West, who is set to perform at the show, will have anything to say about Swift’s latest jam — be it homemade or musical — you never know what will happen at MTV’s unpredictable award shows.
