Reality star Shayne Lamas hospitalized, miscarries second child
“The Bachelor” alum Shayne Lamas has been hospitalized after collapsing in her home and has miscarried her unborn child, according to several reports out Monday.
The daughter of former soap star Lorenzo Lamas reportedly suffered a pregnancy complication while carrying her second child with husband Nik Richie, TMZ reported. She collapsed at her Orange County home Sunday evening.
The “Leave It to Lamas” reality star, 28, reportedly 16 weeks along, was taken to a hospital, where doctors found she had internal bleeding around her uterus, according to People. She lost the baby after surgery, the mag said.

“Shayne had a life-saving emergency surgery,” Richie told TMZ on Monday afternoon. “She is on a ventilator system and is in a sedation-induced coma.” Her vitals were stable, he added.
Initial reports said that the E! starlet, who gave birth to daughter Press Dahl Lamas-Richie in November 2011, had been in a coma.
However, Lorenzo Lamas put out a statement to People seemingly contradicting Richie and those early reports, saying his daughter was “conscious and stable.”
“She is not in a coma, however she did miscarry the child she was carrying,” Lamas said.
“Shayne is aware of her condition and that her family and her husband are here with her and love her so much,” he continued. She will remain in the hospital for the time being, he said.
Richie, the founder of the NSFW website TheDirty.com, posted a note on his site notifying readers that he’d be taking some time off to tend to his family matters.
“Unfortunate things happen to good people,” he wrote. “I’m not the best person in the world, but I love my wife and my family. Shayne is my good person. She is my support and my smile. I found you and I never want to let you go. We will overcome. Us 3.”
The tragedy takes place just a month after the couple confirmed their baby news, Us Weekly reported.
