Rihanna asked to leave Abu Dhabi mosque after racy photo shoot

Rihanna didn’t get the letter of the law, much less the spirit of it, as she wore tight clothing and bright-red lipstick and sexy-posed for pics at the most famous mosque in Abu Dhabi over the weekend.

She was, um, asked to leave.

RiRi didn’t even make it inside, actually, according to a news release issued by the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre (translated via 7 Days in Dubai) on Monday.

“The Centre would like to point to a personal visit incident that was carried out by ‘a prominent singer’ to the mosque. The singer did not make arrangements with the mosque’s management prior to her visit and had used an entrance that is not intended for visitors,” the statement said, in illustrating its policy of keeping visits “commensurate with the sanctity” of the site, which is the largest mosque in the United Arab Emirates.

“Despite being directed to enter through the visitors’ entrance to take a standard tour of the mosque, the singer stayed outside to take some photos. She was asked to leave once it became apparent that some of the photographs she took were not in compliance with the terms of the mosque.”

Sure, Rihanna covered her head and wore black, but she wore tight black garments, something specifically contradictory to clothing rules posted on the mosque’s website. She also finished off her look with a statement necklace and bright red lips -- very sexy.

As for the pics she took, you can see them for yourself in the video above or on her Instagram page. Again, very sexy, which is par for the course if you’re Rihanna but inappropriate while visiting a mosque.

It’s not the first time Rihanna’s social media efforts have had ripples in real life on her current tour. Two men selling photo opps with an endangered slow loris in Phuket, Thailand, were arrested after she posted the photos she had taken, and others were arrested after she tweeted about a lewd sex show at a bar in the same location.

Rihanna’s next stop? Israel. Keep monitoring that Twitter feed, folks.
