More engagement rumors swirl around Pippa Middleton, Nico Jackson

Pippa Middleton is reportedly engaged to banker Nico Jackson, that according to reports out Wednesday. However, other outlets have shut down those rumors.

So which is it? We’re not totally sure, but here’s a roundup of what’s swirling online.

Us Weekly first reported the news, citing unnamed sources who confirmed that Kate Middleton’s younger sister, real name Philippa, is set to walk down the aisle in 2014. This new round of reports follows those swirling around in September alleging that the couple were engaged too. (Us said those reports were false but that this new wave is true, natch.)

Middleton, 30, a party planner turned author, and Jackson 36, a stockbroker, have been dating for 15 months and he reportedly popped the question in early December while they were vacationing at five-star resort Oberoi Amarvilas in India, Us Weekly said. The romantic resort is supposed to be a popular engagement spot too.

“It was exactly how he planned it,” a source told the mag. “Very romantic and grand!”

However, when the jet-setting couple touched down in London after the trip, no engagement ring was visible on Middleton’s finger, E! News reported. (And we’re guessing it would have been a conspicuous one given the going rate on hotel rooms at the Oberoi ....)

Middleton and Jackson have yet to confirm or deny the reports.

And, per Britain’s Daily Mail, a source close to Middleton has shut down the rumors altogether by saying that the couple were “not engaged.”

Either way, Middleton, who rocked a white form-fitting Alexander McQueen gown as maid of honor at her sister’s wedding to Prince William, has indicated that she would be a non-traditional bride.

The newly minted fashion icon, who contributed to Vanity Fair’s Wimbledon coverage over the summer, admitted that she was quite the tomboy growing up, and also an avid fan of tennis.

“If I had to get married, it would be in my tennis whites — shorts with no pleats or frills,” she wrote.
