File this one under #millennialproblems: Nina Dobrev and her new beau, Austin Stowell, are dating, but the pair only recently -- and publicly -- acknowledged that they weren’t following each other on social media.

That’s totally a big romantic no-no these days, right?

Stowell, 30, who made his relationship with former “The Vampire Diaries” star red carpet official at the premiere of his latest project, Steven Spielberg’s “Bridge of Spies,” earlier this month, took to Twitter on Tuesday to admit his relationship faux pas.

“That weird moment when you realize you don’t follow your girlfriend on Twitter #socialmediaproblems,” the “Secret Life of an American Teenager” alum tweeted, sharing a screenshot of the brunet beauty’s profile page. The “Public Morals” actor later posted a screenshot to prove the follow was official.

But Stowell wasn’t the only one who had neglected to hit the “Follow” button.

“That awkward moment when u realize ur not following him either&gotta do it realfast b4 he realizes,” Dobrev, 26, responded.

According to People, the couple sparked up their romance in June when they were spotted together at a comedy show in Hollywood, then hit St. Tropez together. The “Degrassi: The Next Generation” actress was notably linked to her “TVD” costar Ian Somerhalder for three years.
