Sick Miley Cyrus postpones more shows, and boy, that ticks her off

Miley Cyrus is starting to sound like an extremely impatient patient.

Unfortunately, the light at the end of the tunnel might not show up anytime soon for the “Wrecking Ball” singer, who has been hospitalized since Tuesday after a “severe allergic reaction” to an antibiotic prescribed to fight a sinus infection.

With her Friday and Saturday shows in Nashville and Louisville postponed until August, she expressed her displeasure via social media, tweeting early Friday that she was “sick of waking up to needles.”

Her reaction to cephalexin, also known as Keflex, is expected to last five to 27 days, according to her rep, and comes in the middle of her ambitious “Bangerz” tour. She previously had to bail on a Tuesday show in Kansas City, Mo., and Wednesday gig in St. Louis, much to her fans’ dismay.

Cyrus let fans know along the way that she’d absolutely rather be performing for them than lying in bed, but Thursday saw her lashing out against persistent speculation regarding the “real” reason for her hospitalization.

“So many ignorant stories out there no one is reading the official statement and these dumb ... are scaring my fans. Please read official,” she tweeted, following up with, “shut ... up & let me heal. stop scaring my family, friends, & fans. OFFICIAL STATEMENT,” which included a link to the statement her camp had released.

In addition to explaining why the antibiotic had been prescribed and making it clear that she’d had a bad reaction to it, the statement asked for “compassion and privacy” as the singer got well and added, “Miley is devastated about missing shows and possibly disappointing her fans.”
