Matt Damon has a ponytail, which seems more important than his big-budget film
Et tu, Matt Damon? The Oscar winner is currently rocking a ponytail that surely could be swathed up into a man bun.
Did you think you could just show up with shocking hair, Matty, and no one would bat an eyelash?
Well, consider our lashes batted.
The actor, 44, who ordinarily sports a short, trim hairstyle, debuted the low pony — which he’s clearly been growing out for a while now — during a press conference Thursday in Beijing for his upcoming film “The Great Wall.”
The dark-haired activist (seriously, are those lowlights?) has kept a low profile in recent months while filming all over Beijing, so let’s pretend it was to ensure maximum impact for the debut of his lengthy locks. Whether the new ‘do is for a role or just for fun, we’ll totally take the latter as an acceptable excuse. Let your hair down, man!
At the press conference, Damon was joined onstage by “Game of Thrones” alum Pedro Pascal, Chinese director Zhang Yimou and actors Andy Lau and Jing Tian to talk about the mystery thriller, which is based on the historic wall’s origin story. Important points were probably made about the movie, but they were quickly eclipsed by Damon’s new look. So it’s pretty clear who — or, more accurately, what ‘— is the film’s real breakout star.
Universal has slated the $150-million Chinese co-production for a November 2016 release. It remains unclear if Damon has slated a haircut.
