Mama June of ‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’ reportedly dating sex offender

A dating choice reportedly made by June Shannon, Honey Boo Boo’s Mama June on the series spun off from “Toddlers & Tiaras,” might be putting “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” in jeopardy.

The reality-TV matriarch is, according to TMZ, seeing one Mark Anthony McDaniel, 53, who got out of prison earlier this year after serving nearly a decade for aggravated child molestation -- molestation allegedly involving one of Shannon’s relatives.

However, Mama June’s second-youngest of four daughters, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, told Radar Online that the rumor’s not true and the two haven’t seen each other for 10 years.

Georgia’s sex-offender registry says McDaniel was convicted in May 2004 and released in March, with TMZ adding that according to prosecutors he had forced oral sex on an 8-year-old child.

If the two are dating, that’s not great messaging from a woman starring in a family show that involves young girls.

Shannon, 35, and McDaniel have been seeing each other for a few months, according to TMZ, which posted a cozy picture of the two that was reportedly taken a few weeks ago when they and others were hanging out.

Pumpkin told Radar that the picture is Photoshopped.

Mama June and Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson, 9-year-old Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson’s parents, separated in September, with June reportedly kicking him to the curb over suspicions that he had been cheating on her.

“We are very concerned about this new information and are reassessing the future of the series,” a TLC spokesperson said in a statement obtained by People. “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” is not currently in production.
