Lily Collins, star of “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones” has been dubbed the most dangerous cyber celebrity of 2013.

The actress was bestowed this year’s (dis)honor by Internet security firm McAfee because searching for pictures and downloads of the star on the Web can lead to “a 14.5% chance of landing on a website that has tested positive for online threats, such as spyware, adware, spam, phishing, viruses and other malware,” the firm said.

So, basically, that’s just another reason for you to visit us via latimes.com rather than Google, Yahoo! or Bing. (Wink, wink.)

The “Mirror Mirror” star is currently staking her claim to fame as a Shadowhunter-in-the-making named Clary in the first film adaptation based on Cassandra Clare’s young-adult series. Her popularity as well as other stars’ is capitalized on by cybercriminals to get fans to download harmful content.

Pairing the 24-year-old’s name with the search terms “free downloads,” “free app downloads” and “nude pictures” can lead to websites meant to steal passwords or other personal information, said the firm (via Company Town).

The daughter of musician Phil Collins replaces “Harry Potter” alum Emma Watson at the top of the firm’s list. Watson was 2012’s most virus-inducing celeb, but doesn’t even appear on this year’s top 10. Actresses Jessica Biel and Megan Fox have all dropped out of this year’s list, whereas in 2012 they ranked No. 2 and No. 6, respectively.

Instead, spots 2 through 10 go to rocker Avril Lavigne (12.7%), Oscar winner Sandra Bullock (10.8%), comedian Kathy Griffin (10.6%), “Star Trek” star Zoe Saldana (10.5%), pop vixen Katy Perry (10.4%), singer Britney Spears (10.1%), “Mad Men” star Jon Hamm (10%), supermodel Adriana Lima (9.9%) and “We’re the Millers” actress Emma Roberts (9.8%).

With Hamm being the only male in the top 10, the study revealed that women are more dangerous than men. Crooner Justin Timberlake (No. 12 on the list) and “Grey’s Anatomy” star Patrick Dempsey (No. 13) were the only other males in the firm’s list of top 20 risky celebrities.
