Lea Michele breaks silence: ‘Cory will be forever in my heart’
Lea Michele got back on social media Monday for the first time since her boyfriend and “Glee” costar Cory Monteith’s death, tweeting a charming photo of the two of them in happier times.
“Thank you all for helping me through this time with your enormous love & support,” the actress wrote as a caption to the photo, above. “Cory will forever be in my heart.”
Though other members of the cast had expressed their grief publicly in the wake of the actor’s death, Michele had spoken only through her reps, as she reportedly grieved with Monteith’s family and helped with funeral and memorial plans.

About 150 cast, crew and production team members got together Thursday for a Monteith memorial held on the Paramount lot, where some “Glee” scenes are shot. Fox TV said in a statement that all involved thanked the public “for their continue outpouring of love and support as we grieve our friend and colleague during this difficult time.”
Monteith was found dead in a Vancouver, B.C., hotel room on July 13. It was later determined he died from an accidental overdose of heroin and alcohol. His body was cremated shortly after the autopsy was complete, with his mother reportedly intending to sprinkle his ashes in places he loved.
