Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian are still married — as usual, it’s complicated

Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian are still married, despite having signed final documents in July, a Los Angeles County Superior Court clerk said Wednesday.

The two both signed the required paperwork around July 21, but the divorce is still pending judicial review; with the court facing a backlog of cases, this one won’t be finalized for a couple of months, the clerk said. Kardashian filed for the split in December 2013, but the petition was in danger of being tossed out in October 2014 and again this last April because of inactivity on both sides.

Her legal status means Kardashian, 31, may be in a position to make some medical decisions for the former NBA player, 35, who was found unconscious Tuesday at the Love Ranch, a brothel in Pahrump, Nev. According to TMZ, she’s already made a few.

Khloe spent the night at the Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas after arriving there Tuesday evening, Us Weekly reported. Her mom, Kris Jenner, was spotted leaving the hospital shortly before 5 a.m. A source told People that sister Kim Kardashian is also there.

“Everyone has dropped everything to get there. There are a lot of calls and texts going back and forth as everyone is figuring out how they can help and be there for each other,” the source told the magazine. “... The family has been told that this isn’t just a minor thing; that it was extremely serious.”

“please don’t go,” Khloe’s half-sis Kendall Jenner said Wednesday on Twitter.

Vanessa Bryant, wife of Kobe Bryant, took to Instagram late Tuesday to send prayers to Odom and his family and to issue a plea: “At the end of the day, he has a family and loved ones that care for him. People shouldn’t be posting/reposting that he is deceased when it isn’t true. Just imagine what his loved ones must feel like to receive such terrible news,” she wrote, posting an image of Odom in his No. 7 L.A. Lakers uniform.

Khloe and Lamar’s relationship, which began with a whirlwind courtship — they married in 2009 after dating for a month — has been a complicated one. It has also been documented for all to see on “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” and, for a while, “Khloe & Lamar.” Brother Rob Kardashian was his sister and brother-in-law’s houseguest for a large part of the latter, while the former has had cameras on the relationship from all angles.

The gossip media has also been on the couple along the way. After dealing with rumors of drug use and infidelity, Khloe finally filed for divorce after TMZ posted a hard-to-watch video in which Odom raps about cheating on her when she’s out of town.

In the episode of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” that aired Sunday, Khloe was seen taking a phone call from Lamar, only to be criticized by Kim for paying attention to him. Kim said it was “dangerous” and reminded her sister that he “totally disappeared and completely broke your heart.”

Khloe thought that Kim simply didn’t get it, saying in a direct-to-camera moment, “I love Lamar and care about him a lot. It makes me feel good to hear his voice and know that he’s OK.”

In the context of the June death of Lamar’s good friend Jamie Sangouthai, Khloe said, “I’m really on high alert for Lamar because, I mean, anything, I think, will set him to spiral and that’s kind of the last thing I want for him.”

Odom was “foaming at the mouth” when he was found, Love Ranch owner Dennis Hof told HLN’s Nancy Grace on Wednesday. After being told there was a problem, management had gone into the room where Odom had been staying since Saturday and, on advice from 911, turned him on his left side — “which was a challenge, he’s a big guy” — at which point, Hof said, “he started throwing up.”

The former basketball star was sleeping well and eating well during his stay, according to the man who also owns the famous Bunny Ranch. He also might have been using a Viagra-type herbal supplement, and was keeping company with two of the women who work at the establishment.

But Hof, who says Odom is his pal, seemed to have no love for the Kardashian machine.

“Speaking of the Kardashians, I got a call from their publicist today,” he said, “saying, are you going to do any media, and I said yes, I’m going to go on the Nancy Grace show. They said please don’t do that, we’d rather have Khloe say what needs to be said. I told her to go to hell.”
