Katharine McPhee, husband Nick Cokas ‘working on their marriage’

It ain’t over till it’s over, at least in the case of Katharine McPhee and her estranged husband, Nick Cokas, who hit a rough spot in October after she was photographed publicly kissing her married “Smash” director.

Though the embarrassing photos initially seemed to be the catalyst for their split, which also went public at the time, word emerged that they’d actually been separated for months prior to that breaking news and that McPhee had been living with friends.

Now there are new pictures that put a different spin on their relationship, via TMZ. In them, McPhee, 29, and Cokas, 48, are seen hanging out casually together this last weekend, walking their dogs. It turns out that’s not the only time they’ve seen each other, either.

“They’re working on their marriage and spending a lot of time together,” a friend of the couple told People, which said that neither one of them officially moved out of their shared home.

No comment from the “American Idol” runner-up via Twitter; though she’s been active on Instagram, her Twitter feed has been silent quiet since just before the kissing pictures appeared.

The other couple in the mix, director Michael Morris and his wife, actress Mary McCormack, also split when the pics hit (she reportedly kicked him out) but they have since reconciled, according to Us Weekly. They have three children together.
