Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Henry Cavill broke up, but the paparazzi stayed
Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting learned it the hard way: Once you’ve dated Superman, you can never go back. At least as far as the paparazzi are concerned.
We’re referring to the effects of “The Big Bang Theory” star’s 10-day “relationship” last summer with Henry Cavill.
“I had no one following me until I met Superman,” Cuoco-Sweeting spills in the May issue of Cosmopolitan. “I’ve been in this business for 20 years, and my whole life, I could go anywhere, do anything. There had not been one paparazzi photo of me until like several months ago. The recognition was crazy.”
So that relationship follows her to this day, as does her onetime relationship with costar Johnny Galecki. But that one is all good -- she told the mag she seated him in the front row at her New Year’s Eve wedding to tennis player Ryan Sweeting.
Being on the job together with her ex was “awkward” at first, she said, but, “By the grace of God, we became best buddies and moved on in such an elegant way.”
(It seems to work out that way for Galecki. He and “Roseanne” costar Sara Gilbert stayed pals after dating, even though she said realized she was gay while she was making out with him.)
One thing Cuoco-Sweeting hasn’t moved past, however, is online commentary, which she admits to being “totally insane about.”
“I started reading [the social media comments] and thought, ‘Maybe I need to make more of an effort and not go out in my UGGs and be disgusting.’ So I started putting on makeup,” she said. “And they started writing, ‘Wow, someone really likes being in front of the camera’ and ‘Her hair’s done now for coffee.’
“I couldn’t do anything right. Why am I reading this stuff? But I’m obsessed.”
So be mindful if you choose to comment on this post. You never know who might read it.
The May issue of Cosmo hits newsstands April 8.
