Snooki, JWoww fire back at N.J. neighborhood looking to ban them
Snooki and JWoww, a.k.a. Nicole Polizzi and Jenni Farley, seem to have upset the residents of the Pelican Island community in New Jersey.
More than 40 residents of the neighborhood met at a property owner association meeting to protest the filming of the “Jersey Shore” spinoff series “Snooki & JWoww” because they do not want to thwart rebuilding efforts following the destruction of Superstorm Sandy, NJ.com reports. The neighborhood sits right outside the Seaside Heights neighborhood where the “Jersey Shore” alumnae rose to fame on their hard-partying MTV reality show.
Snooki, 25, was expected to vacation in the residential community with fiance Jionni LaValle, 11-month-old son Lorenzo and “Jersey Shore” roomie JWoww in order to film an upcoming season of their series.

Several of the neighborhood’s residents are still displaced after the massive October 2012 storm that destroyed so much on the East Coast. The residents believe that filming “Snooki & JWoww” would bring in unwelcome visitors as they work to rebuild, the newspaper said.
But on Sunday, the hot-tempered mama took to social media to air her grievances.
“Adults are trying to ban my son, fiance and I from enjoying our summer at the shore,” Polizzi wrote, sharing a screengrab of the NJ.com story about her. “Grow up, get over yourself and move on.”
“This is not how we should be treating one another,” she continued. “Absolutely sick and very sad. I pray for you. There’s much bigger things to worry about in life than trying to ban my family from your neighborhood.”
Berkeley Township Council President James Byrnes told the property owners group that an ordinance -- one requiring permission to film in the area -- would be placed on the agenda for consideration at next Monday’s township council meeting. The neighbors have reportedly hired a lawyer to represent them.
As of Wednesday morning, Polizzi’s post had earned nearly 89,000 likes on Instagram and a flurry of fan support in comments.
Farley, Snooki’s bestie, also took to Twitter to respond to the reports.
“Laughing so hard over these reports @snooki ... Who would’ve thought 2 girls can piss so many people off #embracethehaters,” she wrote.
An MTV spokesman said the cable channel does not comment on series in production, NJ.com added.
Polizzi famously has cleaned up her act since getting pregnant and giving birth to her son. The self-proclaimed meatball has penned a handful of books including “A Shore Thing,” “Confessions of a Guidette” and “Gorilla Beach.” She’s also writing a book for expectant mothers and has launched her own clothing line. She and LaValle reportedly plan to wed in the Caribbean in January.
When asked about how she sizes up her “guidette” days in Seaside Heights, this is how she explained it to CNN last March:
“I just explain it like this: I was 21 when the show came out. So basically, I was just growing up,” she said. “I did crazy stuff when I was 21, you know, drinking, having the time of my life. And now to where I’m settled down — 25 years old, I have a child — I couldn’t be any happier. I love being a mom.”
She also added that she loves “to show the not-drinking side of me.”
