Julie Bowen has ‘girl crush’ on Vergara; helps us define the term
Julie Bowen has a girl crush on her “Modern Family” costar Sofia Vergara.
Yes, “this just in” from the latest edition of This Is News Because...?
The actress attended a Mommy & Me Soiree for Baby Buggy in Los Angeles when she was asked to demystify some comments she may or may not have made about envying her pulchritudinous pal.

“Who doesn’t [have a crush on her]?” Bowen told E! News. “I can’t believe I said that, but, yeah, sure, on Sofia.”
To clarify, Bowen helps define what a a girl crush is, and apparently, Vergara doesn’t totally fit into that construct.
“I sort of worship Sofia though. It’s more of like ... a girl crush I feel like you would have on somebody you don’t know, like Katy Perry or something, somebody like far away,” Bowen said. “But Sofia, I know and see all the time.”
The Emmy nominees -- and two of People magazine’s most beautiful women of 2013 -- shot to fame as modern moms on the ABC comedy, and their antics have made them household names. Bowen won two Emmy Awards for her role as Type A soccer mom Claire Dunphy. Vergara has been nominated three times for her role as step-matriarch Gloria Delgado-Pritchett, though she hasn’t won. But it’s not just about accolades for Bowen.

“I respect her so much. She is so comfortable being like, ‘I am a woman, yes?‘” Bowen said in her best Colombian accent and sexy Vergara pose. “And I am more like pulling up my dress and feeling like my boobs shouldn’t be doing whatever they’re doing.”
Besides being hilarious, there’s a lot to love about the heavily accented bombshell.
Vergara, 40, recently opened up about aging and divulged that she’s already frozen her eggs so she and boyfriend Nick Loeb can have a baby together. She’s also the spokeswoman for the hypothyroidism campaign Follow the Script, and is turning heads in her Diet Pepsi and Cover Girl ad campaigns. She’s launched a clothing and shapewear line for KMart and reveals that the key to her bodacious body is simply tailoring.
So, what’s not to crush on, right?
