Julia Roberts nixes pregnancy rumors, gets flowers from Letterman

Julia Roberts is not pregnant, and she doesn’t seem to want to get pregnant ever again.

Reports began percolating that the 46-year-old might be expecting a fourth child when photos of her wearing a baggy sweater while visiting her in-laws surfaced earlier this week. Those thick layers of fabric happened to mimic a baby bump and put the rumor mill on overdrive.

Girl can’t wear comfy clothes and get away with it in this town.

The “Pretty Woman” star already has twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, 9, and son Henry, 6, with her husband Danny Moder, whom she married in 2002. And she seems to want to keep her family a party of five.

During a Thursday appearance on “The Late Show” to promote her upcoming dysfunctional family drama “August: Osage County,” David Letterman angled to get to the bottom of said rumors.

“Have you thought about adding more to the group?” Letterman asked.

“Oh, sure,” the Oscar-winner replied quickly.

“Any chance?” Letterman asked.

“No,” she said flatly, flashing her signature grin.

And there you have it.

The superstar donned a roomy coat in and out of her appearance on “The Late Show” and an all-black ensemble during the interview, so any modicum of a potential baby bump would’ve been readily concealed.

During their lengthy chat, Roberts told Letterman that she has her brood focusing on their schoolwork.

“God, I hate homework,” she quipped. “I hated it when I had to do it and now I hate it when they have to do it. When they come home from school, I want them back.”

Even though her kids are studying up, the “Erin Brockovich” Oscar winner said they have no idea how famous she is.

“They know I’m their mother and they know that I work in show business, as does their father,” she said. But when Letterman asked if they had seen her work, she said, “Oh, God no! No, no, no. No!”

Cutely, Letterman surprised Roberts with a huge bouquet of flowers since she called him out for forgetting to send one to her on her birthday, Oct. 28. Apparently, he’s been sending them to her for 15 years but “forgot” this year.

“I feel like Miss America!” she said, getting tearful. That’s when Letterman’s team brought out more bouquets and Roberts kept wiping her eyes and waving like a pageant queen.

That same day, Roberts hit New York City’s Ziegfield Theatre for the premiere of “August: Osage County,” which earned the red-haired superstar supporting actress nods from the Screen Actors Guild and the Golden Globes when nominations were announced this week. (The cast was also nominated for motion picture ensemble by SAG, and costar Meryl Streep earned lead actress nods from both organizations as well.)

The superstar wore a waist-cinching, blue Proenza Schouler dress with matching Charlotte Olympia shoes to the premiere, according to Us Weekly.

Her character, Barbara Weston, lets quite a few obscenities fly in the John Wells-directed flick, but Roberts admits that she tries to keep her language clean when she’s around her kids, only cursing once in front of them.

“In the nine years of being a mother, I’ve only done that one time, and it brought all of us to a screeching halt,” she told People at the premiere. “Everyone was like, ‘What just happened?’ It was horrible! I still think about it now, and I still can’t believe I did that. The children just stopped, and I said, ‘I am very sorry!’ ”

“It was a traffic thing,” she added. “Somebody cut me off, and I was like, ‘...!’ It was dangerous. The children and I could have been hurt. Then I told them, ‘Mommy is so sorry,’ and we all just kept on going. We all recovered!”

“August: Osage County” opens in theaters Dec. 25 and touts a star-studded cast including Streep, Chris Cooper, Ewan McGregor, Dermot Mulroney, Margo Martindale, Sam Shepard, Abigail Breslin, Benedict Cumberbatch, Julianne Nicholson and Juliette Lewis.
