Jessa Duggar marries Ben Seewald; sister Jinger is maid of honor
Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald are now married!
The “19 Kids & Counting” star tied the knot at the First Baptist Church in Bentonville, Ark., in front of more than 1,000 guests in a Saturday morning wedding, People reported.
Duggar’s younger sister, Jinger, was her maid of honor, in a reception filled with peach flowers and white roses, as Us Weekly reported.
Jessa Duggar, 21, and Seewald, 19, began courting last year as part of their Baptist faith. So what’s the difference between courting and dating?
“Courting is getting to know each other in a group setting, both families spending time together and the couple setting goals together to determine if they are meant to marry,” Duggar’s father, Jim, explained to People.
“With dating, a couple will often pair off alone and that sometimes leads to a more physical relationship,” he added.
While courting, Duggar and Seewald laid down the rules early on. They agreed to hold hands for the first time on their engagement day, and to kiss on their wedding day.
Once engagement day arrived in mid-August, Seewald presented Duggar with a diamond engagement ring. Two-and-a half months later, wedding bells rang.
This is the third Duggar child to say “I do.” Duggar’s older brother, Josh, 26, tied the knot with Anna Keller in 2008. Most recently, Duggar’s older sister, Jill, 23, got married to Derick Dillard in June. Shortly thereafter, Jill announced she has a baby boy on the way.
