‘The Artist’ star Jean Dujardin splits from wife Alexandra Lamy
Jean Dujardin has split from his wife Alexandra Lamy.
The Oscar-winning star of 2011’s “The Artist” married Lamy in 2009 after they worked together on the French comedy “Un Gars, Un Fille” from 1999 to 2003.
The renowned French actor confirmed the split at a literary event in Paris on Wednesday.
“It has been eight months that tabloids have been trying to make me out as depressed, an alcoholic, a womanizer. This is no more, or less, than the story of a couple who are separating, like any other couple,” he told journalists, according to the Daily Mail.

Lamy reportedly requested the divorce.
Break-up rumors cropped up last year when the pair spent Christmas separately, the Mail said. Dujardin was also briefly linked to French actress Elsa Zylberstein, but those rumors were said to be “ludicrous” and “false.”
While the couple have no children together, they each have children from previous relationships: Dujardin has two sons and Lamy has a daughter.
The 2012 Oscar winner will next appear in George Clooney’s “The Monuments Men” and in “The Wolf of Wall Street” with Leonardo DiCaprio.
