Gisele Bundchen, supermodel mom, shares breastfeeding photo
Gisele Bundchen is letting fans in on one of her major parenting secrets: multitasking.
The Brazilian beauty shared Tuesday a somewhat controversial photo of herself breastfeeding her tot as a beauty squad carried out its aesthetic duties.
“What would I do without this beauty squad after the 15 hours flying and only 3 hours of sleep #multitasking #gettingready,” Mrs. Tom Brady captioned the photo that shows her nursing daughter Vivian as she gets her nails, makeup and hair done by three different people. Bundchen also translated the caption into Portuguese.

Well, she didn’t become Forbes’ top-earning supermodel for seven years by just sitting around. Or did she?
The 33-year-old, lounging in a chair with her eyes closed, wears a fluffy white robe in the photo as her 12-month-old toys with her necklace. Oh, yeah, pay no attention to the busy mom behind the curtain.
Back in August 2010, the former Victoria’s Secret Angel caused a stir after the birth of her first child with her quarterback husband, son Benjamin.
“I think breastfeeding really helped,” she told Harper’s Bazaar UK about getting back her figure. “Some people here think they don’t have to breastfeed, and I think, ‘Are you going to give chemical food to your child, when they are so little?’ There should be a worldwide law, in my opinion, that mothers should breastfeed their babies for six months.”

Consequently, the new mom had to clarify her quotes on her blog.
“I understand that everyone has their own experience and opinions and I am not here to judge,” she wrote. “I believe that bringing a life into this world is the single most important thing a person can undertake and it can also be the most challenging. I think as mothers we are all just trying our best.”
But that isn’t the only controversial maternal practice for which Bundchen has come under fire.
Bundchen also carried her son Benjamin around -- completely naked -- to start his toilet-training process early. The process supposedly helps “elimination communication” or “natural infant hygiene” and expedites a parent’s response to a child’s potty needs.
“By learning to respond immediately to the signs of a baby’s impending bladder or bowel release by holding him over a toilet and giving a vocal or hand signal -- and beginning the process within the first six months of life -- advocates say that parents can save loads of money on diapers, reduce skin irritation and avoid willful potty-training battles,” according to the Los Angeles Times’ health blog.
Bundchen said she had her son potty-trained by 6 months, even though doctors usually recommend starting the toilet-training process at 18 months.
Though, aren’t we all grateful that this was a chaste photo of Vivian breastfeeding rather than a graphic one of her eliminating?
