Fergie is now ... Fergie! Thanks, legal name change!

Is Fergie warming up for the pressure that comes with choosing a baby name?

The singer and wife to actor Josh Duhamel is now officially Fergie Duhamel, having changed her name from Stacy Ann Ferguson, TMZ reports.

And why not? When was the last time anyone thought of her as “Stacy”?

The Black-Eyed Peas member started the process last month with a court filing and ended it Friday with a hearing, going through the same process Ron Artest used when he became Metta World Peace and Chaz Bono employed when he changed his name from Chastity Bono — though Chaz included a request for a gender change as well.

Fergie and Duhamel got married in January 2009 and are now expecting a baby boy. She announced the pregnancy in February via Twitter.

Now we really can call her Mrs. Duhamel — and soon, Mama D.
