David Cassidy’s wife files for divorce after 23 years of marriage

David Cassidy’s wife has filed for divorce after 23 years of marriage and 28 years together, according to reports out Tuesday morning.

Sue Cassidy said the split from the onetime “The Partridge Family” star had been brewing for a while, reported TMZ, which first had the news.

Though David Cassidy has been struggling with alcohol and is currently in rehab after his third arrest on suspicion of DUI, Sue wouldn’t tell the website if that was the spark behind the split. She did say the break had her “truly heartbroken.”

“I am confident he will come back better and stronger than ever,” she told TMZ, noting that she was glad he was getting help.

David Cassidy, a Florida resident, was most recently arrested near LAX on suspicion of DUI and is currently in rehab. He allegedly blew a 0.19 on a blood-alcohol test at the time of his arrest, TMZ said.

“I will remain in treatment for as long as necessary, and I am getting the best care I can possibly get anywhere,” the former teen heartthrob told “Entertainment Tonight” recently, speaking from rehab. “I am working as hard as any human being to live a sober life. “

The two have one son together, Beau, 23. David, 63, is also the father of “Arrow” actress Katie Cassidy from a previous relationship.
