Corinne Foxx, daughter of Jamie Foxx, named Miss Golden Globe 2016
Jamie Foxx’s daughter Corinne Foxx has been named Miss Golden Globe 2016.
Foxx, a University of Southern California senior, actress and accessories model, will assist and pass out trophies onstage during the 73rd Golden Globe Awards in January.
The honoree is traditionally the son or daughter of one of the industry’s most respected actors, actresses, directors or producers and is chosen by the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn., which puts on the awards show.
“Throughout the years I’ve grown up watching my dad establish himself as a well-respected actor,” Corinne Foxx said in a statement. “I’m honored that HFPA has given me the opportunity to now share the same stage where he’s been recognized for some of his greatest accomplishments.”
Her Oscar-winning dad won the Golden Globe in 2005 for the 2004 biopic “Ray” and was nominated two other times that same year for his starring role in the TV film “Redemption: The Stan Tookie Williams Story” and supporting role in “Collateral.”
Jamie Foxx took to Twitter on Tuesday night to share the news: “soo proud of my little one for being chosen as Miss Golden Globes. @corinnefoxx can’t wait to see you on the stage!,” he wrote, sharing a photo of his daughter at the HFPA and InStyle’s party announcing Corinne’s new title.
Previous Miss and Mister Golden Globe honorees include: Greer Grammer, daughter of Kelsey Grammer; Sosie Bacon, daughter of Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick; Francesca Eastwood, daughter of Clint Eastwood and Frances Fisher; and Sam Fox, son of Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan to name a few.
The 73rd Golden Globe Awards will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Jan. 10 and will be hosted by comedian Ricky Gervais.
