Brooke Mueller in rehab for prescription drug abuse, rep says
Brooke Mueller, ex-wife of Charlie Sheen and mother to his twin boys, has been getting treatment for prescription drug abuse since Friday, according to her rep.
“Brooke is currently at UCLA Medical Center where she has been since being admitted May 3,” Steve Honig told the Ministry in a statement. “She will be there for several more days, and will likely transition directly into a residential treatment facility to get help for prescription drug abuse.”
That’s contrary to a report that Mueller had been involuntarily checked into the medical center for care on Wednesday.
Bob and Max, her boys with Sheen, were reportedly removed from her home on Thursday night and placed in the care of Denise Richards, another Sheen ex who’s taken care of the boys before when Mueller went to rehab.
“Brooke misses her children, and wants to get healthy so she can resume her life and get back to being a mom.”
Meanwhile on Tuesday, Sheen and Richards were in court, according to TMZ, where a judge was expected to allow Richards to keep temporary custody of the 4-year-old boys, with Sheen’s approval. Richards is the mother of Sheen’s daughters Sam, 9, and Lola, 7.
Mueller’s most recent stint in rehab came in December, when she was treated for an addiction to Adderall.
