Will Beyonce address lip-synching rumors pre-Super Bowl?
Beyonce is previewing her Super Bowl halftime show Thursday but she’s likely to face a different kind of music over her alleged lip synching performance at the presidential inauguration earlier this month.
The “Single Ladies” singer will be involved in a pre-game press conference at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans on Thursday where she’ll likely address claims from the Marine Band that she wasn’t actually singing her rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner” live, according to the Associated Press.
Other topics of discussion will likely include a potential reunion with “Destiny’s Child” partners Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams and her upcoming HBO documentary “Life Is But a Dream,” which airs Feb. 16 and will be previewed for media before the press conference Thursday.

The 31-year-old, who is married to rapper-producer Jay-Z and has a baby named Blue Ivy, has been busy online: The singer posted a photo of herself wearing a sweatshirt with “Can I Live?” written on it, which some have interpreted as her first response to the lip-synching allegations. But it could also be a tease to her husband’s track by the same name.
Can we expect Jay-Z to join her on the halftime show stage? We’ll have to wait and see.
But all the speculation isn’t taking away from her excitement/publicity fest. She also posted a promo shot on her Tumblr page of herself dressed as a referee, another holding a football marked with “XLVII” and some intimate black-and-white images of her rehearsing for the highly anticipated show.
What do you think Beyonce will say?
[Update 2:15 p.m.: Beyonce kicked off the press conference in New Orleans belting out the national anthem. She then confirmed that she used a pre-recorded track during the inauguration because she is a “perfectionist,” adding that she “absolutely” plans to sing live during this Sunday’s Super Bowl halftime show.
