Ben Stiller sets Guinness record for longest selfie stick at ‘Zoolander 2’ premiere
Apparently, there’s a lot more to life than having a really, really, ridiculously long selfie stick, and Ben Stiller recently found out what that is.
Guinness World Records took a turn for the vain on Thursday when the “Zoolander 2” star scooped up the record for longest selfie stick at the sequel’s London premiere in Leicester Square.

The film’s 50-year-old star, director and co-writer, who’s been globe-trotting with costar Owen Wilson promoting the high-fashion comedy, whipped out a 28-foot, 1-inch selfie stick at the film’s blue-carpet premiere, with officials from Guinness there to corroborate the record-breaking moment.
Stiller’s photo-taking contraption was more than eight times as long as an average selfie stick, with a midsection made up of a 26-foot-long window-cleaning pole, according to Guinness.

The Blue Steel expert pointed the stick high above the blue carpet to successfully snap a portrait for the record books, capturing costars Wilson, Penelope Cruz, Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrell, co-writer Justin Theroux, fashion designer Valentino Garavani and numerous others looking up from below.
Stiller is reprising his role as clueless male model Derek Zoolander, who in the film has a penchant for selfie sticks, and Wilson returns as his fellow model and sidekick Hansel as they attempt to put an end to a plot to assassinate the world’s most beautiful people. Ferrell also returns as the notorious Mugatu.
“Zoolander 2” struts into theaters on Feb. 12.
