Ashlee Simpson announced it Monday afternoon: She and beau Evan Ross are engaged.

“My baby love and I are ENGAGED!!! Hallelujah Hawaii !!!!!,” she said on Twitter, captioning a rather serious but still romantic picture of herself with singer Diana Ross’ son.

In it, a ring is visible that appears far from simple in design.

“The love of my life said YES!!!!!!,” the groom-to-be said in a tweet sent at the same time, with the same photo.

The two, reportedly friends for a long time, have been dating for less than a year, but in November actor Ross was telling Us Weekly that marriage was in the cards. On the acting front, Ross is set to appear in both parts of “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay,” which is currently filming.

That makes two Simpson sisters engaged -- older sis Jessica said she and Eric Johnson, the father of her two kids, intend to get married this year.

Ashlee Simpson was previously married to Pete Wentz of Fallout Boy, with whom she has a 5-year-old son, Bronx. The two singers divorced in 2011.
