Andrew Garfield sounds more at home in the snappy suit he wore to the London world premiere of “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” than in the classic red-and-blue costume his character dons in the film.

Blame it on his “British reserve.”

“Spandex does not suit the British,” Garfield told the Mirror on the red carpet Thursday. “You are pretty much naked, so you have to trust what you have is enough.”

We’ll assume he just means enough fabric, mmm-kay?

Seems Los Angeles is a bit much for him as well.

“I think it’s probably quite unhealthy to spend too much time there,” he told the Mirror in a separate interview, noting that he never feels at home in the SoCal city. “Those events that look like so much fun in the photos ... it’s mostly people looking over their shoulders at everyone. They’re miserable.”

(What you’re hearing now is the sound of nobody arguing with him.)

The actor walked the carpet with girlfriend and costar Emma Stone, who’d gotten a surprise while doing a radio interview earlier in the day. After a Spice Girls sing-off with the hosts, the major fangirl was “hijacked” by Mel C, a.k.a. Sporty Spice, via video chat, E! News reported.

Sporty relayed a message from another member of the group, Baby Spice Emma Bunton, after apologizing for crashing the interview.

“I’m so happy about it ...,” said a giddy Stone. “I don’t wanna be hijacked by anybody else!”

It was the second Spice Girls encounter the actress has had in the last few weeks: “Scary Spice” Mel B popped up in a video during a March interview in Sydney, urging Stone to sing anything Spicy -- and how could a fangirl refuse.
