‘Great Gatsby,’ ‘Her,’ ‘Gravity’ win Art Directors Guild awards

“Gravity,” “Her” and “The Great Gatsby” won Art Directors Guild awards for film production design Saturday evening at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Andy Nicholson of “Gravity” earned the honor in the fantasy film category. K.K. Barrett won for contemporary film for “Her.” Catherine Martin received the trophy for period film for “The Great Gatsby.”

On the television side of the 18th Art Directors Guild Excellence in Production Design Awards, Gemma Jackson won in the hour-long single-camera series category for “Game of Thrones.” Jim Gloster won in the half-hour single-camera series category for “Veep.” Howard Cummings earned the trophy in the TV movie or miniseries category for “Behind the Candelabra.”

Brian Kane received the award for short-format live-action series for the pilot of “Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome.” Tyler B. Robinson won in the category for multicamera, variety or unscripted series for “Portlandia.”

Steve Bass won the award for music or game show for his work on “The 67th Annual Tony Awards,” and Todd Cherniawsky won in the commercials, public service announcement and music video category for “Call of Duty: Ghosts.”

Martin Scorsese received the Cinematic Imagery Award, and Rick Carter was given the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Robert Clatworthy, Harper Goff and J. Michael Riva were the Hall of Fame inductees.
