‘Argo,’ ‘Skyfall’ among nominees for Costume Designers Guild Awards

Golden Globe winners “Argo” and “Les Miserables” are among the feature film nominees for the 15th annual Costume Designers Guild Award announced Thursday morning.

Nominated for excellence in contemporary film are Stephani Lewis for “Beasts of the Southern Wild,” Louise Stjernsward for “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel,” Mark Bridges for “Silver Linings Playbook,” Jany Temime for “Skyfall” and George L. Little for “Zero Dark Thirty.”

Vying for excellence in period film are Jacqueline Durran for “Anna Karenina,” Jacqueline West for “Argo,” Paco Delgado for “Les Miserables,” Joanna Johnston for “Lincoln” and Kasia Walicka-Maimone for “Moonrise Kingdom.”

Nominees for excellence in fantasy film are Kym Barrett and Pierre-Yves Gayraud for “Cloud Atlas,” Ann Maskrey, Richard Taylor and Bob Buck for “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” Eiko Ishioka for “Mirror Mirror” and Colleen Atwood for “Snow White and the Huntsman.”

Competing in the outstanding contemporary TV series category are Jennifer Rogien for “Girls,” Susie DeSanto for “Nashville,” Jill Ohanneson for “Revenge,” Molly Maginnis for “Smash” and Alonzo Wilson and Ann Walters for “Treme.”

Nominees for outstanding period/fantasy TV series are John Dunn and Lisa Padovani for “Boardwalk Empire,” Caroline McCall for “Downton Abbey” and Michele Clapton for “Game of Thrones.”

Nominations in the outstanding made-for-television movie or miniseries category are Lou Eyrich for “American Horror Story: Asylum, Season 2,” Karri Hutchinson for “Hatfields & McCoys” and Ruth Myers for “Hemingway & Gellhorn.”

Competing in the excellence in commercial costume design category are Roseanne Fiedler for “Capital One: Couture,” Judianna Makovsky for “Captain Morgan Black”; and Julie Vogel for “Dos Equis: Most Interesting Man in the World.”

The Costume Designer Guild Awards will be presented in a ceremony on Feb. 19 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
