Emmys 2012: ‘Breaking Bad’s’ Aaron Paul dances about his nomination
Things may never go right for hapless meth dealer Jesse Pinkman on “Breaking Bad,” but actor Aaron Paul is having a great summer. On Thursday morning, he and his fiance were celebrating his third nomination for best supporting actor in a drama series.
“I’m in my house, dancing with my fiance, and we’re breaking out the champagne -- we got so many bottles from our engagement party,” he said. “It’s incredible.”
The fifth season had its premiere on Sunday and grabbed the AMC show’s biggest audience yet, with 2.9 million viewers. That was up 14% over the fourth season premiere.
As Pinkman, the sidekick to master meth cooker Walter White, Paul has earned one Emmy already.
“I’m feeling like I’m on cloud 9 yet again,” he said of the nomination. “I don’t think I’ve been off that cloud since I won.”
As for what to expect from the just-underway season of “Breaking Bad,” Paul couldn’t say much, but he did reveal, “Each season of ‘Breaking Bad’ just seems to go further. The show really gives the audience what it wants. And this year, Jesse Pinkman went through such torturous struggles. This kid is always struggling to keep his head above water.”
