“I’m in London and just now about to board a bus to a plane to Berlin for a screening of our film. I just found out walking to the lounge, I’ve got two phones and I called my mom and dad in different ears, they seemed as surprised and happy as me.”

“I have to say, it’s like... to be nominated by your peers and people whose work you admire is amazing. It means a lot to say the least.”

Rami Malek - “Mr. Robot”

“It says a lot that I got to play a lead in this show and now I’m getting recognition for it as a nominee. I think there a lot of actors in the Screen Actors Guild who can relate to feeling like the underdog.”

Adam McKay - “The Big Short”

Director Adam McKay's new movie "The Big Short" got two SAG Award nominations, one for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture and the other for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for Christian Bale.

“It’s a recognition that we had just a murderers’ row of actors in this movie. So I love seeing that. And you know Bale’s performance is unbelievable, so it’s nice to see him recognized. But the ensemble one is really nice.”

F. Gary Gray - “Straight Outta Compton”

“You have to imagine the years of experience behind the people who vote, and varying degrees of not only experience but training, so for them to see this cast, who have varying degrees of experience, a lot of them very raw, some their first roles, it feels great. They worked really, really hard and it took a long time to find them. For experienced actors to recognize these guys, it really is gratifying.”

Edie Falco - “Nurse Jackie”

The show is a true ensemble and for our team effort to have been recognized by our peers in the Screen Actors Guild makes it particularly special. “It was definitely unexpected. I think what it feels like at least is recognition of the achievements of the nonprofessional actors, mainly nonprofessional actors.”
