Golden Globes 2014: Beau Bridges really digs this party
Beau Bridges says the Golden Globes are his favorite awards party.
The veteran actor has good reason to celebrate tonight. He currently stars in two popular TV shows, “The Millers” on CBS and Showtime’s “Masters of Sex,” which is nominated for a Golden Globe for best TV drama.
“It’s such a relaxed setting,” Bridges said of the Globes ceremony. “You’re sitting at a table, it’s just nice.”

Bridges said he wasn’t surprised by the love that “Masters of Sex” has received since its premiere.
“It’s a good story, the writing is great and it’s just well told,” he said of the show, which is based on the lives of the groundbreaking sex researchers William Masters and Virginia Johnson.
The narrative is unique, he said, and represents an important part of the country’s history. Plus, Bridges’ character is especially complex, with a story very much worth telling.
“He’s a gay man in the 1950s, living in the closet,” he says. “He’s a powerful man. The underlying spirit of ‘Masters of Sex’ is that love and sex are related, but you can have profound love without the sex.”
